The name Mulhollen

(Please note: asterisk indicate names of my personal line of descent.)

Generation No. 1

Hugh Mulhollen was born in Ireland (thought Antrim) about 1750. Some genealogists for the family attest he came to the colonies around 1770 with his brothers, William and John, to serve in the Revolutionary War going first to Bedford County, and later migrating north to Antis Twsp., Huntingdon/Blair Co. PA (Brother William's family moved to Cambria Co. PA, married Phoebe Smith. He drowned in a river near Williamsburg. Brother John died in Indiana Co. PA about 1813.) We know that Hugh married, but his wife is unknown. They had three children.

Generation No. 2

James (abt 1770-abt 1846) maries Elizabeth Zimmerman (1779-1864). Together they raise ten children.

i Sarah (abt. 1800)
ii John (1802) (note: John marries Susan Cherry-Susan is the daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth (Burgoon) Cherry. It was their daughter, Susan, who married Daniel Delozier, Jr. This is point where the Mulhollen and Delozier family cross over)

Generation No. 3

Hugh (1814-1899) marries Mary Ann Shugert (1814) and have three children. On both an 1870 and 1880 Hugh lists a profession of farmer.

Generation No. 4

Joseph (1846-1920) grows up and marries Anna Cross (1854). On a 1900 census Joseph was found listing his profession as a tax collector with the family living in Antis, Blair twp., PA. They had eight children.

Scott Walker (1881) married Hope Ertley on September 14, 1905 in New York.
They had one daughter.

i Ivalou (died as a child of pneumonia)

Scott re-married Elizabeth 'Bessye' Harriet Price (1881) and had three children. He was a machinist for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Bessye was a secretary, both working in Blair County, PA.

Lulu Esther (1923-present) married Everett Jay Delozier (1921-1976). They had seven children.

Jane Ruth Delozier (1945-present) married Carl Robert Strawderman (1943-present) on June 3, 1967. They had two daughters. In June 2005, they will have been married for 38 years.
