Table set for a Queen...

...details for setting a table fit for a princess and her court.

The location for my sisters' shower was at our city's local History House. While quaint, and full of antiques and historical memorabilia, there were many (and I do stress many) strict guidelines. But even still, the History House was an important location for my sister because each year she teaches a children's reading camp at this very place. It seemed a wonderful place to make the magic happen!

At our location, white linens were provided by the staff on round tables (each seating 6-8 guests), so that was one check mark off my list. What to put on the tables was another story. Search engine, here I come! But first, before I give you the instructions to the centerpieces I made, let me give you a few other options...

If you want that Cinderella flare and need ideas, then consider your wish my command. Take a look at these ideas from The Bridal Shop if you want to purchase centerpieces for your event. If a coachman's budget is the best you can do, and the season is right, you might consider carving fresh pumpkins (or Fun-KINS-artifical carvable ones) and spray painting them to match your theme (or a simple sparkle of gold or white will do). Add tea lights and greens for the finishing touch! (this isn't a centerpiece, but if you need a absolutely one of a kind piece for your wedding, check this out!) And Balloons Galore has a few ideas that appealed to me and they also seemed to have good prices. If money is no object, then consider this centerpiece from Wedding Candles. (if you have some creative talent, you might want to study this one and try your hand at re-creating it yourself)

Making a Centerpiece

Now onto the centerpieces for my Bride-to-be...

The centerpieces I used were so simple to create. Here's what you will need:

Small round glass fish bowls (one for each table)

Small clear glass stones (one bag per fish bowl)

Tea lights (one per fish bowl)

Confetti (glitter/sparkle stars and embossed hearts)

I purchased round bowls at the dollar store. Craft stores like Michaels and A.C. Moore and also Walmart sell these types of bowls. One for each table. Inside the bowl, I placed one small bag of clear glass stones (the smaller round, smooth ones) and placed one Cinderella blue tea light. The bowls were placed in the center of the table with embossed/glitter stars and heart confetti scattered around. At the last second, I lit the tea lights, and the candlelight glistened just enough off the confetti, it was the perfect touch! (sorry no picture, because my cousin re-used the bowls for her recent wedding)
